Shem Sandefur was a director of a medical education and communication skills program for international doctors at Felician College in New Jersey.
Served for two years as the "minister" of the Science of Mind Center of New York City (now called the Creative Light Church of Religious Science) right next door to the Empire State Bldg. Shem was there during the 9/11 crisis.
After retiring from her position in the medical program, she drove across country on Route 40 with her 4 dogs and 3 cats to get back home to California in order to attend Holmes Institute full time where she is a graduate student studying to get her degree and ministerial license in United Church at the San Diego campus.
She has an earned Masters degree and finished all Ph.D. coursework in literature and philosophy at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
She taught at the University of California, Irvine as well as Coastline College for 17 years before retiring to open up the medical education center on the East Coast.
Shem is a Practitioner at the Huntington Beach Church of Religious Science where she teaches Foundational, Roots, and Practitioner II courses and maintains a counseling practice.
