Business Meeting Minutes

Ponderosa S.A.G.E. Fellowship

Organizational/Business Meeting

Sunday, September 24, 2006

Call to order: 12:52 p.m.

Present: Sue Wilkin, Cindy and Steve Elliott, Pat Alice, Donna Mass, Carol Stevens, Harriet Baker, Cheryl Colvin, Milledge and Yolande Culbreth, Doris Engelhaupt, Eric Pearson, Grace Pierce, Judy St. Clair, and Stephanie Nelson.

Opening Prayer: Judy St.Clair led us in an opening prayer to raise our consciousness for the meeting to follow.

Approval of minutes: With the addition of the last name of Junne Doulle, Steve Elliott moved to accept the minutes for the August 28th meeting as corrected. Sue Wilkin seconded the motion, and it passed.

Treasurer’s report: The total balance in the Ponderosa SAGE Fellowship accounts is $7,342.86 made up of $5,001.43 in the adult account, $861,00 in the account restricted for our new church home, and $1,480.43 in the youth account. The radio program has been paid through August. We are now putting 10% of each Sunday's tithes into the restricted account.

Correspondence: No correspondence this month

Old Business:

1. CCC Update: The program is going great. The new website is up and running and the address is www.highdesertccc.org. All available counseling spots are now filled with a waiting list of 10 people and two interns waiting to join the program. The success of this program has been reflected in the fees paid by the clients, which go to the church. At this point, we are unable to add a third night to the program due to lack of funding. Pat Alice and Carol Stevens are searching for funding for 2007.

2. Community Outreach and Radio Program: We agreed to continue to view both the radio program as well as the service CCC performs as our community outreach. We made a community outreach donation to the High Desert Domestic Violence Program of $300 last month to help cover electrical expenses. Steve Elliott has spotlighted two of our recent speakers on the weekly show, Rev. Hilde and Rev. Terry. He hopes to obtain others to come in and be on the show in the future.

3. Guest speakers: We have had quite a variety of speakers so far. Rev. Terry spent September with us, Howard Jay Ruben for October 1st, Rev. Suzanne for October 8th through the 22nd, and Jay D. Allen for the 29th. We will have Rev. Paul Braden for November 4th and Rev. Hilde Brooks for the rest of November. I have asked Rev. Terry Shields to be our guest speaker for December and am awaiting conformation.

4. Current Status of PSF: We are still in search of a church home that we can afford, that will reflect who we are as a group, and that will give us an opportunity to grow. Steve Elliott has located a couple of places and will follow up as soon as he can. We need to follow up with Kristy to see if she has heard of anything. Each of us must be aware and alert to any viable possibilities and let the others know if you find any.

5. Affirmation/Acronym for 2007: In past years Rev. David made up an acronym for the year and Cheryl Colvin had T-shirts made with our logo and the acronym for the year and sold them as a fund raiser for our church. She has offered to do this again for 2007 and would like our input as to a catchy phrase and acronym. Two that she and Pat came up with are: I experience HEAVEN in 2007, and the acronym would be Having Enthusiasm Abundance Vitality and Energy Now. Seven would be Spiritual Enlightenment Vitality and Energy Now. Put on your thinking caps and let's come up with one and wear them proudly on Super Sunday.

6. SAGE Activity for October: We haven't done a SAGE activity for a while, so we chose Saturday, 10/28/06, at 6:30 at Pat and Cheryl;s house to have a Halloween Poker night potluck. Bring your favorite dish to share and dress up, if you like.

7. Business Meeting for October will be the 29th after service.

After a closing joke by Steve Elliott, Judy St.Clair led us in a closing prayer and we adjourned the meeting at 1:32 p.m.
