Old Business:
1. CCC Update: The CCC is still doing great with all counseling spots filled. There are no clients on the waiting list at this time. In January and February, it is common for new requests for counseling to pick up. As December 31, 2006, represents the end of the grant funding, Pat used some of the remaining funds to buy supplies for the program and donated some supplies to the HDDVP for their generous support in offering CCC space to operate. The remaining balance of the grant, as mentioned above, is $7,197.39. Pat suggested CCC split that amount between Sue Wilkin for her ongoing bookkeeping service, and Carol Stevens for her administrative and grant writing efforts throughout 2006 for the program. Donna Mass so moved, Don Nelson seconded the motion, and the motion passed.
2. Community Outreach and Radio Program: Since CCC is without funds for 2007, the cost for the radio time will now be split between Cindy and Steve Elliott and the Ponderosa SAGE Fellowship. Steve Elliott needs a variety of guests to continue to make the program interesting and beneficial to the listening public, and requested that anyone so interested contact him. Carol Stevens moved that we once again consider this expense as our community outreach for the month of December, Don Nelson seconded it, and the motion passed.
3. Guest speakers: At the end of last Sundayâ€s service, Pat Alice and Carol Stevens approached Rev. Terry Shields with the prospect of being a co-speaker alternating every other month with Rev. Hilde Brooks. She said she would contact Rev. Brooks and discuss it with her. Rev. Hilde Brooks contacted Carol on Monday to determine the details of that request. She wanted to know whether our congregation wanted the two ministers to take more of a leadership/ministerial role or remain as they have been as guest speakers. That question was put to the assembly to discuss the pros and cons of it. After much discussion we arrived at a consensus. Doris Engelhaupt moved that we continue to have both ministers remain as guest speakers until such time as we find our own location and are able to attract a larger congregation. At that time, we will reconsider the idea and decide if we want to move forward with a formal letter of call for our own minister. Caroline Coleman seconded the motion, and it passed. Until that time, we have been very fortunate to have Judy St. Clair as our in-house practitioner, who performs many of the duties of a minister for us, such as, prayer treatment for those in crisis, bereavement, etc. Thank you, Judy. Rev. Hilde made a couple of suggestions regarding the order of service and emailed them to me. I passed them around for those present to review and consider. Those present unanimously agreed to the ideas and the email will be attached hereto.
4. Self Evaluation of PSF: We are still looking for a new location and as of this point; there have been no concrete suggestions. Eric, Cheryl, Cindy and Stephanie have been jointly doing to opening and closing of church with help from others present. They have agreed to continue for January.
5.Monthly SAGE Activity: Rev. Shields mentioned to Pat and Carol the possibility of Ponderosa SAGE being more visible in the community by volunteering to do various community projects, i.e., painting, cleaning up, or whatever else was brought up that might be of interest to some of the congregants. It was decided to consider this suggestion and look for ways to be of service in our community as a possible SAGE activity wherein there would undoubtedly be a potluck involved.
6. Business Meeting: Out next business meeting will be January 28, 2007, after service.
Carol Stevens led us in a closing prayer and we adjourned the meeting at 1:25 p.m.
